sound file test

Hopefully this mp3 and file hosting will work - I have a small series of sketches which haven't got the greatest EQing, but I'll still work on them. The sounds can also be pulled apart and used in different ways. If this one works, I'll follow with the others tomorrow.

i like the panning between left and right that is happening at the beginning because it threw me off in terms of space. where am i? am i underground listening to a radio broadcast of the surface of the earth, a city?
the tinny sounding voices at the end (josh and tagny) are very spooky. they prompt me to replay, it prompts me to listen more closely the second time - to gather more information.
have you played this for anyone who is not involved with the project?

The audio adds depth and dimension to my experience of the event. Like Ruby, I also found the voices abrupt and it made me want to replay the audio.

I am really looking forward to seeign your instructions for archivist of the future on how to conserve this piece. How do envision people encountering this audio sculpture? How do see conservationists encoding it through time so that it is accessible to interested publics.... Who would you consider the audience for this document and the live event?

Tom, I am wondering if its ok if I add it to the blog as the interface audio? This means that it would play automatically when you log on to the blog.

Ruby - no; I haven't played it for anyone.

Tagny - it is okay; I'm not always so fond of things like that because I often use an older system / browser, but it might work.
